These missable side missions are part of the charm of Skyrim and help create unique experiences for players and make the world feel lived in. They typically tell an interesting story about smaller characters, take you to parts previously unknown to brave strong enemies, and reward you with special treasures for your efforts. The best quests in Skyrim offer the player all three of these things. One such questline in Skyrim is called "Forbidden Legend" and involves an object of great power, a story of men long since passed and completely forgotten, and a gauntlet of puzzles and battles that have left a lasting impression on players for nearly a decade.
In this guide, we'll be covering the steps to complete the "Forbidden Legend" questline, the story details of the quest, and the infamously difficult Geirmund's Hall Puzzle.
The quest can be discovered in a number of ways. In order to begin "Forbidden Legend", you will need to locate and read the book Lost Legend. There are over 20 places to find or purchase the book throughout the world of Skyrim, and many players will naturally stumble across the book during their play.
If you haven't found the book, however, a good place to get one would be at the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, as you can find a copy on a shelf with candles near where Astrid usually stands. It's worth noting that finding any of the amulet fragments will also start the quest, but if you wish to follow the quest in the intended and most organic way possible, finding the Lost Legend book is the first step.
The book tells of the Legend of Archmage Gauldur, a wise and powerful wizard who lived during the first era. Gauldur was known to be just and fair and beloved by the people of his time.
I got all the items in the tresure chest and still nothing : Sorry this really doesn't help much User Info: persona The pieces of the amulet are on the bodies of the bosses. You also can't drop or sell the item, so either you have it or it's on the body. Once you walk into the room and you see water there's a room on the far end and a coffin it will pop up and you eventually kill the guy and you get the amulet.
THIS is correct only if this is the one with the 30 points stamina amulet because I got it already and I don't remember the name.
User Info: Bas If you cleared it you should have it but anyways it's in a cheat at the very end before you drop off the edge to loop Back to the start. Sign Up for free or Log In if you already have an account to be able to ask and answer questions.
Question Status How do I get past forbidden legend? The Skill book Words and Philosophy is in the room after you kill the boss. Last Edited: 3 Nov pm. Was this guide helpful? YES NO. Kill the draugr here, and cross the bridge to the center pillar. Here lies another lever that will drop the other side of the bridge.
Two more draugr are roaming around the far side of this walkway. You can easily shoot and kill them before dropping the bridge. However, when they die, they may land on the pressure plate behind them, setting off the swinging axes in the hallway. You will find one more draugr, a magic-user, just past the pressure plate, around the corner at the end of that hallway. The chain to deactivate the axe trap is found here on the wall. After you descend the following stairs, you will pass another sideboard with a random poison on top.
Around the corner, the passage ends on a ledge. This next area is where you'll confront the boss, Sigdis Gauldurson. The area below the ledge where you will fight the boss is full of many more of the fungi already found throughout the ruin, while many hanging moss also grow in this area. Once you drop down here and head towards the quest objective, Sigdis Gauldurson will burst out of his sarcophagus. Sigdis will conjure two illusions of himself and teleport to one of four spots in the room.
The illusions will die in one hit, so find the real one and defeat him. There are several strategies to do this:. You'll find an escape tunnel behind his sarcophagus leading to a treasure room, featuring a boss-level unlocked chest with a plate holding two pearls and a small pearl. To the right is a set of shelves holding a random helmet, gauntlets, and shield, a soul gem, a random potion of magic, and a copy of the Two-handed skill book Words and Philosophy.
To the south, a passage leads to a lever that will open a hidden door back to the first room. Jump to: navigation , search. Note: This location is one of many potential targets for one or more of the radiant quests found on this page.
