We planned on five days but thought that might be too long. I had the mindset you can do it all in one day. Granted we have never been to Disney California.
We are looking forward to all the new things we have not seen and done yet. I hope five days is enough! We are going with a 7 year old and a 3 turning 4 on our trip , along with my sister and her family who has a 3 turning 4 on our trip , and a baby who will turn 1 during our trip.
I am thinking of getting the City Pass which is a 3 day park hopper. Do you think this will be enough time at Disneyland? Hi Malia! Are you planning on visiting one of the other parks on the City Pass? If so it is definitely worth it. Also, the ticket to the Halloween party will get you in a few hours before the event, so it will give you a 4th day in the park.
This is a good amount of time. I hope you have a magical trip. The last time we went was eight years ago with two five year olds, a four year old, and a two year old who got sick when he was away from home. We stayed for five days straight, no breaks. We felt by day five day three into a very sick kid , it was too long. That was until we found a new ride we had missed, Buzz Lightyear Blasters. We went on it three or four times in a row. Our sick kid perked up and we looked around and still found things we had not seen the previous four days.
Everyone is now big enough to go on all the rides and hopefully we will be able to do all we want. I grew up down the road from Disneyland, so I only did day trips that were great as well.
That is an awesome story! We have been four days before and felt it was plenty, and then gone five days and wished we could stay longer. There are so many factors. And I would rather have one day in Disney then none anytime. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. If you know you'll be visiting during possible rain, then five days should be your answer to "How many days do I need at Disneyland?
The food. Both the parks and Downtown Disney have so many restaurants that you will really want to enjoy. There just aren't enough meals in three days for you to enjoy them all! If you consider yourself a foodie, the only answer to "How many days do I need at Disneyland? By spreading out your vacation over five days, you can easily enjoy one really good meal at one of the restaurants inside the parks. Additionally, there are some amazing quick service restaurants that you'll want to try.
Downtown Disney also has some amazing restaurants that you'll want to enjoy and with five full days, you have the luxury of leaving the parks to eat. You can avoid the busiest parts of the day for the most part.
By having five days, you don't have to feel like you have to spend every minute of the day at the parks to get the most out of your trip. With a 5-day ticket, you can get to the parks early to beat the crowds.
Then as the day goes on and the parks get busier, you can take a break. Go back to your hotel for a nap or a swim, have a leisurely lunch at one of the themed restaurants in Downtown Disney or even hit the beach! Then, come back at night for World of Color or the fireworks.
It can make your Disneyland vacation, dare I say Well, maybe not quite relaxing, but super enjoyable and not rushed at all. Does a laid back Disneyland vacation sound good to you? Then five days is your golden answer to "How many days do I need at Disneyland? Star Wars : Galaxy's Edge opened in Disneyland May 31, , and as the largest Disneyland expansion in recent history, you'll need an extra day just to explore it!
Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the attractions, rides and food in Star Wars land Disneyland by purchasing the 5-day Park Hopper ticket. Since travel to Disneyland between May 31 and June 23, will require advance reservations to access Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, having a 5-day Park Hopper gives you more flexibility when making that request. As of June 23, , reservations are no longer required to visit Galaxy's Edge, but a virtual queue system has been implemented to help with crowds.
Some mornings and evenings you may be able to walk right into Galaxy's Edge, but at peak times you can request a no-cost, virtual boarding pass to secure time of entry. Alternatively, book yourself for full table service at some selected restaurants. You could never go wrong with a well-planned vacation. Your length of stay in Disneyland may also be informed by the tickets you purchase. The most popular coupon is the three-day ticket that comes with flexible options.
Its options are unlimited, allowing you to spend a couple of hours in each park, each day. It comes in handy, especially when the weather is unpredictable. With a three-day ticket, you can split your vacation among Disneyland, California Adventure , and the final day between the two or elsewhere.
So far, you can see why a day or two might not be enough for your stay at Disneyland. Some of the shows you want to catch are World of Color, Fantasmic, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the fireworks. The former requires a Fastpass while Frozen usually requires a Fastpass during busy times. Instead of sacrificing one show for the other, why not space them out?
This means that you can watch one show on one night and the other on the second night of your stay. A single day may not be enough to soak in all there is to do in Disneyland. At the end of a busy day at the park, all you want to do is take a rest. Though there are just 2 parks at Disneyland Resort, there are still plenty of attractions and things to do.
Ideally, you should plan on spending a total of days in the parks to cover most everything, including rides , characters, shows, and fireworks. That is not at all how it works at Disneyland, with park hours coming out just 6 weeks ahead of time.
However, the exact park hours schedule is less of a factor with Extra Magic Hours and Magic Morning being held on set days of the week. Unlike Disney World where we recommend avoiding Extra Magic Hours , we suggest taking advantage of them for Disneyland onsite guests. FYI: the Disneyland EMH schedule is the same as Magic Mornings for offsite guests more on that in the next section so you will have more people joining you for that than you will at California Adventure which only provides early access to onsite guests.
