Despite his obnoxious internet persona and loud-mouthed antics, he's still an incredible producer and knows how to put on a great show. With four hours to play, he was able to pull out all of the cards with music spanning the whole spectrum.
In his normal fashion, he would craft long intros for songs, so that you'd be begging him to drop the first verse by the time it came, demonstrating his incredible control over the crowd. But it wasn't all EDM. Songs like that are that extra piece of energy that set artists apart from mainstream EDM artists, especially considering how seamlessly he wove the song into a set full of dance music. As the night came to a close, I wasn't ready to leave, despite having 4 hours of non-stop deadmau5, the longest single-artist show I've ever seen before.
Read more. Report as inappropriate. Since then he has had a number of hit albums in both the UK and the US and an internationally recognised piece of dance music in the form of 'I Remember'.
His live show is a hedonistic experience from the moment the drone like lights illuminate the stage and the heavy bass begins to shake the ground.
The audience can barely contain their excitement as the man himself appears and approaches his decks like a preacher to an alter. The shining, almost sinister smiling mouse head is the centrepiece as the beats of 'Limit Break' begin. Deadmau5 keeps his audience dancing throughout as he mixes tracks such as 'Ghosts n' Stuff' and 'Maths' into extensive pieces of electro.
Finishing with 'Strobes' which is accompanied by an impressive light show, the crowd leave with a dazzle in their eye having witnessed one of the most surreal shows on the dance circuit. The small venue really allowed for that private show feeling and I was blown away by the epic lighting design.
It was my first time seeing him, I have seen him three more times since, and I didn't know what to expect. I was totally engrossed in the sound and the lights that nothing else around me mattered. I had a constant smile on my face. You could tell everyone else around me was enjoying their own world as well. Seeing Deadmau5 at larger type festivals is also a great experience.
You could hear and feel the music all over. He really commands the attention with the melodic type beats mixed in with the heavy bass. I think he was one of the main reasons EDM has really grown in the past years and will continue to grow. Deadmau5 has a very unique sound that differentiates himself from other type of DJs and will allow him to keep rocking for years on! So basically my girlfriend and I got a hotel and used Uber to get to and from the venue.
My girlfriends phone fell out of her pocket, so with the phone, our tickets were left to drive away to god knows where. What I love is that we were able to use the Ticket Master app to log into her account and voila, our tickets were there and we were able to get into the venue. The concert was wonderful, the people were pleasant, and most importantly, my girlfriend's first EDM experience was one to be remembered!
We had a great time, wish we could go the next two days!! I will never see Deadmau5 again. He was drunk and unprofessional on stage. He stepped off of stage for a good 10 mins because he couldn't handle his shit. Someone plugged in a phone and played songs from YouTube. Such a waste of money. It's obvious he's gone arrogant. One of the best. We waited from 7 to 10 in the rain , as soon as it stop rainin, deadmau5 started to play.
At first he showed up without mask, but after he put it on. The music was pure magic and I loved it. The only thing is that I thought that he might got disappointed with the crowd which wasn't that excited, probably that's why he went away just the moment he finished ignoring people asking for a last one.
Anyway I understand him, I wasn't happy about the people too but it was a special night and his music brought me beyond. Great performance by one of the best in the business! His set was solid, with a variety of styles woven into the show. Lighting effects with the Cube were pretty awesome though they're probably designed for Joel to hide behind, jk but for real. I love the new mouse head and enjoyed the live vocalist.
Wish there would have been a few more shirt options for purchase but, regardless, it was a great show! Celebrate the legendary producer's birthday in style by turning back the clock to his most timeless music.

People are masses of jacket cloth hunched against the cold as they duck in and out of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's heavy glass doors.
The lobby is warm and busy, decorated with smiling portraits of the Kids in the Hall cast and other Canadian celebs. Somewhere in the building, newscasters deliver headlines, actors film sitcoms, and pundits argue about hockey.
But the scene in Studio 40 is perhaps most peculiar. A lanky man with a green Space Invaders character tattooed on his pale neck is glued to dual computer monitors. His fingers type furiously between cigarette drags. The ashes and butts collect in a ceramic bowl between an empty coffee cup and Coke can. He's the head of a makeshift command center, leading a team of 12 toward a strange digital glory. There are no windows here, no trace of the sun or snow outside — just Joel Zimmerman, his cohorts, and the ever-ominous presence of a foot-tall, foot-wide, moving mechanical cube.
